Entering membrane science

On June 26, the inaugural meeting of Advanced Membranes and the first editorial board was held in Nanjing. The meeting was hosted by Professor Xing Weihong, vice president of our school, and was conducted in the mode of online and offline synchronous meeting. More than 40 special guests, including Academician Gao Congyi of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and other domestic and foreign editorial members, Mr. Deng Maicun, former Secretary General of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Mr. Youjinde, editor in chief of Membrane Science and Technology, and Ms. Wang Jie, senior publisher of Keai Publishing House, attended the meeting. The Editorial Department of Advanced Membranes has employed Academician Gao Congyi and Academician Xu Nanping as honorary chief editors, Professor Enrico Drioli and Academician Zhong Taisheng as advisory members, and Professor Xing Weihong and Academician Wang Huanting of Monash University in Australia as executive chief editors.

Professor Sun Shipeng, deputy director of the National Research Center for Special Separation Membrane Engineering Technology, reported on the history and positioning goals of Advanced Membranes, and Ms. Wang Jie, senior publisher of KAI Publishing House, introduced the work related to journal management. Academician Gao Congyi, Honorary Editor in Chief, Professor Enrico Drioli, Academician Zhong Taisheng, and Academician Wang Huanting, Executive Editor in Chief, warmly congratulated the founding of Advanced Membranes and looked forward to the bright future of the journal. Membrane material technology plays a more and more important role in all aspects of human production and life. The development of membrane industry and the information exchange and dissemination of membrane science and technology are of vital importance. A good English journal of Advanced Membranes will make it a world-class academic journal of membrane research, which reflects the sense of responsibility of membrane researchers and all colleagues in the membrane industry for scientific and technological self-reliance.

Advanced Membranes is the first English journal founded in membrane science in China.
